PR, Films and Fantasies

The hastag represents my first step of a research project I’m doing for the Promotional Culture module.

Basically, for one week I will try to monitor all the brands that I use daily and all the ones that “target” me with their promo message on various channels. I will keep them in a dairy and on Twitter with the #mybrands tag.

At the end of the week I will try to compare the two sides and see how many actually repeat themselves. Do I consume what I am “told” to by the promoters?

Finally, by researching the brand qualities such as “mission and statement” or “the ideal customer” I will try to create my own profile as a consumer. The idea is to go back to basic consumer behaviour theories and see whether or not I am what I consume 🙂

Hope I didn’t confuse you too much, but honestly I am not sure where all this would lead by the end of the 7 days…
